Great new blog- The Hunter’s Arsenal!
Posted in Hunter, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged blog, hunter's arsenal on August 15, 2010| Leave a Comment »
I got an email from Serebihm recently letting me know that he had started blogging, and I wanted to point some of the OutDPS readers in his direction. The Hunter’s Arsenal is the site, and so far, my favorite post has to be his post on how to regen mana in ICC. Check it out :)
I’ve got the latest episode of the Hunting Party uploaded, however I just need to post it on all the sites. Should be out tonight.
Hints and Rumors!

Go take a look at Bell’s post. I’m going to hazard a guess and agree that “NDA” stands for “No Dwarfs Allowed”. Also, the image at the original site has changed again :)
World of Logs DPS by Class!

Do you want to know how hunters stack up on average to other DPS classes? Take a look at the article that OutDPS poet laureate Frostheim painstakingly put together for wow.com. Interesting data. A visual cue that might help you is that all hunter specs are in green.
Excellent Explosive Shot Write-up!

Sorry for the lack of original content- nursing a sick baby. Pro-tip: don’t have kids if you’re squeamish. Blech.
Garwulf from the Huntsmans Lodge has written up a very good guide about explosive shot for SV hunters. It answers a lot of questions new hunters have, and even has some gems of wisdom for the more experienced of us!
Who Said Hunters Can’t Sing?

Alpacaa produced quite possibly one of the best Louis Armstrong / Yogg Saron mashups I have ever heard. Well, one of the only ones, but it’s still one of the funniest boss kill videos I’ve watched.
He wrote the lyrics and sang this himself (video embedded after the break). For more Alpacaa boss videos, check out his youtube channel.
Just Starting Out?

This site normally covers stuff that happens after you hit 80, but reading Pikestaff’s post, practical advice for brand new hunters, I remembered how much the game has changed for me since I hit 80. Pike, you are tempting me to reroll and drink enough scotch that I’d get to relearn all those lessons :P
Those were good days, they were.
Petopia Forums and Shared Feed!
Posted in Hunter, Offtopic, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged blogosphere, feed reader, forums, google reader, hunter blogs, hunters, petopia, rss, shared items on January 6, 2010| Leave a Comment »
First, Petopia announced that they’ve created a new forum! Second, when I was reading that in my google reader, I shared it and then realized that I should probably write up a post about how that works.
First, on the right hand bar (about half way down), there’s a segment called “stuff I thought you might like”- every time I read something I think people will find interesting, I share it in google reader, and it shows up there.
Don’t want to have to load my page and scroll around to see the last 5 items? Here’s a page that you can use to browse them all, and here’s the RSS feed (for you other feed readers out there!)
In case you’re wondering, I share maybe two or three interesting things a day, and they’re 99% hunter related. I follow every single hunter blogger I’ve found, and I share the best stuff, saving my followers the trouble of poring over their news readers every day :)
Edit: in case any of the bloggers I read (and share) read this, note that I only tend to share items that are fully visible in RSS, with a few exceptions.
Is Deathbringer’s Will Hunter Loot?
Posted in Hunter, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged agi, ap, arp, crit, deathbringer's will, hunter loot, loot council, pve, raiding, rilgon on December 11, 2009| 23 Comments »
Rilgon says so. His argument is that basically there are no hunters that won’t gain the full benefit of every single type of proc we’re eligible for (which is agi, crit, or AP), and there are other classes that could become ArP capped or crit capped. Go read his post- the whole story is more level-headed than the way I’m making it sound ;)
So is Deathbringer’s Will hunter loot? My guild uses DKP, so while that means I can bid on leather if it pleases me, I have to compete with anyone who wants this trinket, regardless of whether they’re crit or ArP capped.
Mage Alt? Read this!
Posted in Offtopic, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged durr, mage on December 9, 2009| 7 Comments »
I have a mage alt, and I’m not ashamed to say that he’s only level 56. If I ever get him to level cap (haha), I’d probably go to spicytuna’s blog to figure out how to play him. God only knows how I got him to 56…
Here‘s a post on how to spec your mage, and here‘s one on how to glyph.
Also, episode 16 of the show is ready, and will hopefully be posted today :)
Patch 3.3 Writeups!
Posted in Hunter, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged patch 3.3 on December 8, 2009| 2 Comments »
Hi folks. We have a podcast that with any luck will be ready before the patch is live, however in the meantime, here’s a bunch of interesting links I found in my reader this morning about patch 3.3:
- The Hunter’s Refuge has an analysis of the hunter changes
- Frostheim has written up a mini-guide to 3.3 on WHU
- Garwulf at The Huntsman’s Lodge has a good patch 3.3 guide
- Negathle at The Angry Butterfly has a gear preview up
Powerauras Setup Strings!

Garwulf at the Huntsman’s Lodge did a way better write up on a hunter powerauras setup than I ever could. In fact, I intend to switch over to his settings when I get home tonight, they’re so much prettier than mine.
Do You Auction in Stormwind?
Posted in economics, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged AH, auction, hit the cap, macro, mailbox, Spotlight on November 18, 2009| 1 Comment »
If so, you should check out this tip I found at Hit The Cap, one of my new favorite places to read about warcraft auctioneering. You can use it to stand right next to the mailbox in stormwind and be able to use the AH without having to run in. Now I know that this sounds even lazier than usual for me, but when you make that mailbox-AH-mailbox run for the 200th time in a day, little things like this are what helps keep one sane.
Darkbrew’s Guide to Deadly Boss Mods!

I saw Darkbrew, of The Brew Hall and our podcast, wrote a nice primer on Deadly Boss Mods. I’m going to go and link it in yesterday’s raiding 101 post, but go and take a look. Many people have this installed and use it already, but this is an excellent guide for people who are just getting started.

Interesting New Q&A Site!
Posted in Offtopic, Spotlight, World of Warcraft, tagged answers, epic answers, q&a, questions on October 7, 2009| 3 Comments »
Matticus (of World of Matticus) pointed me in the direction of a very interesting new community based Q&A site called Epic Advice. Their basic premise is that anyone can drop by and ask a question. Experts can answer these questions in exchange for “reputation” which allows them more moderation power.
This is not a new idea, however it may actually work for WoW question. I have created an account and will answer any hunter questions my mob of readers asks!
