Sorry for the lack of original content- nursing a sick baby. Pro-tip: don’t have kids if you’re squeamish. Blech.
Garwulf from the Huntsmans Lodge has written up a very good guide about explosive shot for SV hunters. It answers a lot of questions new hunters have, and even has some gems of wisdom for the more experienced of us!
grrrr hate “Access Denied – Blogs / wiki” filters at work.
lol, babies.
I never knew the full reason why we should wait half a second instead of firing another shot. So some good info. Though I was only SV for about a month at 80 before switching to MM to cover the AP buff for our raids (even back in Naxx before MM was the best), so I have very little XP with SV in the first place.
It’s a fun spec :) I like them both, but I like the more complex rotation for SV as well as the higher mobility (or lower penalty for moving)
Wierd, I could never figure out the rotation for MM, it seems tough/complecated…though I might just be comforatable & Proficiant (sp)in it.
It’s not too bad- you’ve got less shot cooldowns to watch and fire a lot more steady shots. You have to manage readiness, though, but that’s not really part of your rotation per se.
It only gets worse the bigger they get because there is more of it.
An incidental but still good reason to start off a fight with ES is that it transfers a lot of threat in an opening MD.
I actually like opening a fight with Multishot followed immediately by ES. This does a couple of things:
1. If there are multiple mobs, it gets the tank some threat on all of ’em right from the start.
2. Since the MD timer doesn’t start till I actually shoot something, the hidden cast time of MS doesn’t count against my 4 second MD, potentially allowing another shot to sneak into that window.
i wonder why noone takes shot flight time into account depending on distance from target. To mention 0.5 seconds is just a safety thing. if you do it, do it right.
