Source: Ghostcrawler mentioned that the attack power coefficient for volley has been raised. This skill had, before a patch a few months ago, been ridiculously overpowered. For raids where mana was not in short supply, the largest single target DPS you could get was volley. The nerf brought overall volley DPS down by 30%. Since then, our AOE DPS seemed a bit low compared to other classes’, in my opinion, however since this is rarely a factor in a boss fight, I never bothered to voice my feelings on the forums or anything.
For those of your who want to know the exact numbers, the AP coefficient has gone from 0.0586 to 0.0837. [Edit]: That appears to reverse the nerf from last time, as one commenter pointed out! (thanks Pherra!)
I really wish they would stop [censored] with [censored] that isn’t really broke.
edit: keep it clean.
Volley was broken. Sure, Volley was OP when 3.0 was released, but the nerf was far too devastating. This should bring it back to relevancy for BM and SV, to above average for MM w/ Barrage and Imp Barrage.
I hear your pain, but as far as I know, the reason they made this change was that hunters were being left out of 25 man TOC hard mode clears. Hunter AOE wasn’t strong enough to justify a spot on an anub kill.
So, this is the same coefficient as before the nerf?
0.0837 * 0.7 = 0.05859
That’s too neat to be a coincidence. There are other factors involved though- someone on the official forums did the math and they show a 23% increase to final DPS.
Another undocumented change(as far as I know)is that they changed the range of kill shot. It no longer can be fired at point blank range. Its now 5-45 yards.
=(
Kill shot is working at point blank for me as of today so far.
